"Painted" View of New Mexico Mountains. (Other) March 2006
The original image was one I took in the Southern Rockies near Taos, New Mexico. The effect applied to it was an implementation I had written of "Painterly Rendering of Curved Brush Strokes of Multiple Sizes" in C++. The program uses the image itself to determine how brush strokes should be placed, much like an artist would.
